What This Archive Contains

Fieldmere Corner is a catalogue of documented photography locations in the Czech Republic. Each entry covers geographic context, access routes, light conditions at different times of day, and notes on seasonal variation. The information is based on direct field observation and publicly available geographic and meteorological data.

The coverage is not comprehensive — the Czech Republic contains thousands of photographable locations. The archive prioritises sites that offer distinct visual qualities not readily apparent from general tourism descriptions: specific light corridors, unusual rock formations, seasonal phenomena, architectural details and landscape compositions that require prior knowledge to find and use effectively.

Editorial Approach

Entries are descriptive rather than prescriptive. The archive does not rank locations or recommend specific equipment. Instead, entries describe conditions as they exist — the direction light comes from at particular times, the type of access available, the relevant constraints, and the specific characteristics of each location across different seasons.

Factual claims are based on verifiable data: GPS coordinates, elevation figures, trail distances and admission fees are drawn from official sources including national park administrations and Czech Tourism (CzechTourism). Where information is approximate or subject to change, entries include the date of last verification.

Geographic Scope

The archive currently covers locations across Bohemia and Moravia. Ongoing additions follow a regional structure aligned with the Czech administrative system. Current coverage includes:

  • Liberec Region (Bohemian Paradise / Prachov Rocks)
  • South Moravian Region (Moravian Karst, Lednice–Valtice landscape)

Factual corrections to existing entries are welcome. If a trail distance, elevation figure, access restriction or seasonal condition has changed since the last update, use the contact form on the main page or write directly to info@fieldmerecorner.eu.

The editorial team cannot respond to every submission, but verified corrections are incorporated into entries within two to four weeks of receipt.
